2 taken to hospital after accident at ACIPCO

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Two contract employees were taken to UAB Wednesday morning after an incident at ACIPCO in Birmingham.

Fire crews were called to ACIPCO just after 8:30 a.m. on a report of a commercial fire that happened while workers were welding on a roof.

There was a report of an explosion and a gas leak while employees were working.

The fire has been extinguished and a cause is under investigation, according to a spokesperson for ACIPCO.
