Daycare owner facing up to 10 years after being accused of forcing one toddler to bite another

HUBBARD, Texas. (KWTX/Gray News) - A daycare owner in Texas is accused of forcing a 2-year-old girl to bite another 2-year-old girl, according to authorities.

Jennifer Ann Garrett, the owner of Gracious Beginnings Day Care, was arrested and charged with third-degree felony injury to a child.

According to an arrest affidavit, authorities allege Garrett held one child’s arm and forced it toward the other child’s mouth. They also allege Garrett restrained the child’s arm while the other girl bit her between the wrist and elbow.

The incident happened Aug. 26 at the day care’s playground.

The affidavit does not describe the injury, if any, resulting from the bite.

Garrett faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
