7-year-old girl dies on school bus, officials say

CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) - A 7-year-old girl in Cincinnati died on a school bus after she got stuck in the seatbelt, according to officials.

The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the Roselawn Condon School student as 7-year-old Ngone Talla.

Talla was on the bus when she got stuck in the seatbelt, sources told WXIX.

Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said Talla’s death appears to be natural, but she is looking into it.

Dr. Sammarco said Talla has a history of medical issues.

The school district said in a statement, “Cincinnati Public Schools is grieving the loss of a student from Roselawn Condon School who died yesterday. Our hearts are with her family and everyone who knew and loved her. This is an unimaginable loss for them and a heartbreaking day for the Roselawn Condon community. The CPS Crisis Response Unit is at the school supporting students and employees.”
