Man found dead in restaurant kitchen vent, police say

ATLANTA (WANF/Gray News) - A man was found dead in a kitchen vent at an Atlanta restaurant, according to authorities.

Just before 9 a.m., officers responded to the address of a strip mall with several businesses, including Walter’s Soul Food Cafe.

The restaurant owner told officers that an employee had discovered an unidentified man stuck in a vent in the kitchen area.

Police said the man, who was wedged inside the vent, was found dead.

The APD homicide unit responded, but there were no signs of foul play.

The medical examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the man’s cause and manner of death.

First Alert Chopper saw what appeared to be investigators on the roof over the restaurant. Others were seen in the area between the strip mall and a nearby gas station.
