High school assistant principal accused of sexually assaulting student twice in his office

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) - A high school assistant principal in Connecticut is accused of sexually assaulting a student twice in his office, according to authorities.

Police said Daniel Bonet-Ojeda was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Authorities said they were notified on May 22, 2026, of a sexual assault allegation by the state Department of Children and Families.

Police said they interviewed a student and she told them of two separate allegations of sexual assault that happened on consecutive days in Bonet-Ojeda’s office after he allegedly arranged to be alone with her while school was in session.

Detectives were able to corroborate the victim’s account with surveillance video, along with statements from witnesses and staff members.

Bonet-Ojeda turned himself in on Monday, the same day the warrant was issued.

His bond was set at $250,000.
