Woman accused of beating her husband to death with a flagpole, reports say

(Gray News) - A woman in California is accused of beating her husband to death with a flagpole.

Vicky Kim, 65, was charged with suspicion of murder after police found her husband dead at a home in Palm Desert

On September 4, deputies went to The Enclave shortly before 10 a.m. on an “unknown trouble call.”

When deputies arrived, they found someone with “traumatic injuries consistent with a physical assault,” and the person was pronounced dead, according to a press release.

Court records revealed that the victim was Kim’s husband and that she had inflicted great bodily harm on him using a flagpole, SFGate reported.

Police took her into custody and later booked her into jail.

Over the last year, prosecutors filed five domestic violence cases against Kim from September 2025 to January 2026 before her husband’s death.

Police records from 2007 show that she was previously charged with first-degree terroristic threatening after allegedly making a bomb threat at Keahole International Airport on the Big Island.
