Man accused of stealing lottery tickets during job interview at gas station, then tried to redeem them

HORRY COUNTY, SC. (WMBF/Gray News) - A South Carolina man has been arrested after allegedly stealing lottery tickets from a gas station during a job interview and then attempting to cash them in at three stores.

Antonio Levon Ricardo Stewart allegedly stole a pack of South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets from a Murphy USA in Florence in Horry County while he was there for an interview on May 6, 2025.

It was all allegedly caught on camera.

Stewart then allegedly attempted to redeem tickets from the stolen pack at three different Florence-area stores and successfully redeemed one of the stolen tickets for a $5 cash prize.

A warrant was issued for his arrest later that month. However, he was arrested more than a year later.

Stewart has been charged with three counts of intent to defraud involving counterfeit game tickets.
