High school principal arrested after hidden cameras found in girls’ locker room, authorities say

WELLSBURG, W.Va (WDTV/Gray News) - A West Virginia high school principal was arrested after hidden cameras were found in a girls’ locker room, according to authorities.

Eric James, the principal of Brooke High School, was charged with one count of intentionally intercepting electronic communications and two counts of breaking and entering a nonresidence.

During a press conference Thursday, Brooke County Sheriff Richard Beatty said the cameras were found in the girls’ PE locker room and in a room where members of the dance team change.

Beatty said the investigation is ongoing and that authorities have met with parents of the students.

James is currently in the Northern Regional Jail with his bond set at $100,000.
