Tuscaloosa cold case remains unsolved after more than 2 decades
TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Investigators are seeking new leads in a 25-year-old Tuscaloosa County cold case.

It has been a quarter-century since 21-year-old Treavor Jones went for a daily jog in the Alberta community and never returned home. Police said Jones was shot and killed while jogging near 25th Avenue East and Second Street East.

To this day, investigators have not identified a suspect or motive. However, the Violent Crimes Task Force stresses that while the case is decades old, the investigation remains active. Investigators say they have followed hundreds of leads over the years, but none have led to an arrest.
Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama is still offering a $5,000 reward for information that helps resolve the case.
Jones’ brother told WBRC that the family still has good days and bad days. While they have accepted that no arrests have been made, they continue to focus on their faith and Treavor’s memory.
