TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A University of Alabama fraternity will be suspended for nearly four years after an investigation found seven people hazed new members, according to a report on the university’s End Hazing website.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.’s Eta Chi chapter will not be recognized by the university through May 2030.

The report said members were subjected to verbal and physical abuse, which included making forcing or coercing the members into participating in acts of personal servitude, physical discomfort, illegal activities and degrading activities. The report claimed these activities led to some members being hurt.

The report also alleged new members were denied privileges and provided alcohol and drugs.

The incident happened off campus in September 2025. It was reported through an anti-hazing hotline nearly a month later.

The report said the investigation was resolved in May. No arrests were made.

WBRC reached out to the University of Alabama, as well as Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.’s national headquarters. However, at time of publication, no reply had been received.
