Man charged with burglary in Carbon Hill home invasion that left accomplice dead
CARBON HILL, Ala. (WBRC) - A man who allegedly tried to break into a Carbon Hill home with a woman, who was killed in the act, has officially been charged with second-degree burglary, according to court records.
Carbon Hill Police said that a home along 7th Avenue NW was hit by burglars on Tuesday, Oct. 13, prompting the homeowner to take off work on Wednesday, Oct. 14.

It was around noon on Wednesday when Dustin Patrick Tucker and Kenya Pugh allegedly kicked down the door of the home. Police told WBRC they were unsure if Tucker and Pugh were the same suspects from Tuesday’s alleged burglary.
When the homeowner heard the noises, he already had a gun accessible, according to police. He fired shots after the door was kicked in, killing Pugh.

Tucker ran from the scene, leading police on a brief chase until he was ultimately taken into custody on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Court records filed Tuesday charge Tucker with second-degree burglary in the break-in.
