Maplesville crossing to close Friday for continued work after train derailment
MAPLESVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) - A train crossing in Maplesville will be closed Friday as crews continue to work weeks after a train derailment in the town.

The Maplesville town clerk told WBRC that Norfolk Southern will be replacing the crossing on the truck route on Foshee Avenue from 7 a.m. Friday into Saturday, Oct. 24.
Earlier in this week, Norfolk Southern said crews were wrapping up final work after completing debris cleanup.
“We have completed cleanup activities related to the Maplesville derailment. Crews are wrapping up final restoration work at the site, and we appreciate the community’s patience throughout this effort.”
