‘Yea Alabama’ content director arrested in human trafficking operation
SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - The Director of Content for ‘Yea Alabama’ has been arrested, along with 15 others, as part of a human trafficking operation in north Shelby County, according to authorities.
As of 2026, Robert Aaron Suttles was listed as the Director of Content Yea Alabama who has covered college athletics for teams around the Southeastern Conference.

Suttles was named as one of 15 people arrested after a human trafficking operation in north Shelby County on Thursday, July 23.

Court records charged Suttles with soliciting prostitution and claimed he paid $100 to engage in sexual activity.
Suttles was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $1,000 bond and had already bonded out.
Lt. Clayton Smith, commander of the Shelby County Drug Task Force said, “We will not tolerate the victimization of vulnerable women here in Shelby County. I believe that no woman wakes up each morning and chooses to sell their bodies because they just want to. There is always an underlying reason that they feel they have to do this to live and have no other option. We have a duty to protect them just like any other citizen. I want to thank the investigators for their passion and work in this operation.”
WBRC reached out to Yea Alabama for comment, but at time of publication had not yet heard back. The University of Alabama said Suttles is not a University of Alabama employee.
This is ongoing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
clarification: This story has been updated to reflect that Yea Alabama is not an NIL collective. Yea Alabama is the official University-approved NIL entity for Alabama Athletics.
