Blountsville man killed, 3 others injured in 4-vehicle crash in Blount County Saturday

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - One person is dead and three others injured after a crash on Highway 31 Saturday morning, according to the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened at around 9:30 a.m. near County Road 7.

Officials with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say the crash involved a Birmingham man hitting a tractor trailer on Highway 31 before crashing into a Warrior man driving a Ford Mustang.

Jason R. Kirk, 51, of Blountsville, was pronounced dead on the scene as the fourth person involved in the crash when he hit the tractor trailer.

The other three drivers were taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Blount County Sheriff Mark Moon said at least one of the collisions was head-on.
