Luxury department store to close location at the Summit

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A luxury retail store that calls the Summit home will be closing its doors, according to reports from its company.

Saks Fifth Avenue is a department store marketed as a “premier destination for luxury fashion, driven by a mission to help customers express themselves through relevant and inspiring style.”

Their location at the Summit is one of eight stores closing, according to Saks Global. The company says these closures are part of “strategic actions.”

WBRC is working to learn the timeline of the Summit locations closure.

The other seven stores are located in:

• Columbus, Ohio
• East Rutherford, New Jersey
• New Orleans, Lousiana
• Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
• Phoenix, Arizona
• Richmond, Virginia
• Tulsa, Oklahoma
