MOUNDVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) - A man in Moundville says he hasn’t received regular mail delivery in about three months. WBRC 6 News was On Your Side looking for answers, and now a solution may have been found.

Randy Nichols said the mail issues are so bad, it’s put him behind on his bills.

“Everyday I come out here, open it up, and all I see is a Spectrum junk mail or somethin’ in there,” said Nichols.

That daily routine is getting old for Nichols.

“It’s very upsetting. I don’t like having to pay late charges,” said Nichols.

Late charges on bills that keep piling up.

“On my tractor supply, I had to pay double. My phone bill was double and my power bill I had to pay double,” said Nichols.

Nichols said he paid a visit to the post office in Moundville to see what the problem was, and according to Nichols?

“They claim it’s Birmingham, so I went down there and talked to them and I asked them why am I not getting my water bill because it’s right here in town. Well, they said they get the water bill, send it to Birmingham and they send it back to ‘em,” said Nichols.

Nichols admitted he’s old school, meaning he prefers paying his bills by mail and not online. He’s not sure if his neighbors are experiencing the same thing.

“What if I want to send out a letter,” said Nichols.

As far as sending correspondence out, he drops it off at the post office in Moundville rather than leaving anything in the mailbox to be picked up.

In an update received late Tuesday, Nichols’ mail problems appear to be solved.

An official with the USPS said it checked into it and there appeared to be an “unintentional error recently with filing a form. The Moundville Post Office has corrected the issue.”

That means Nichols should be getting his mail soon.

The U.S. Postal Service gave the following statement to WBRC about the issue and resolution:
