Man shot Thursday morning in Birmingham motel parking lot

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A man is in the hospital after being shot in the parking lot of a Birmingham motel Thursday morning.

Police said they received the call of a shooting at the Motel 8 Inn at 5000 1st Avenue North at 2:30 a.m.

When they arrived, police say they found the victim in a grassy area across the street.

The shooting is said to have happened in the parking lot of the motel.

The victim was transported to an area hospital. There is currently no word on his condition.
