Alabama Rep. Terri Sewell ‘not wavered’ in supporting Biden

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Amid reports of more than 30 democrats wanting President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race, Alabama’s sole Democrat in congress continues to back him.

Alabama Rep. Terri Sewell’s office said the congresswoman was unavailable to talk on-camera, or Zoom, on Friday afternoon.

However, they did release a statement.

“Rep. Sewell has not wavered in her support for the Biden-Harris ticket,” her Communications Director, Christopher Kosteva, stated.

The congresswoman shared a similar message on X earlier this month, sharing her support of the Biden-Harris ticket was “rock solid.”

WBRC also reached out to the Shomari Figures campaign on Friday.

The democrat is hoping to represent the state’s newly drawn 2nd Congressional District.
