Florence man arrested on 130 counts of child porn possession after cyber tip, police say
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A Florence man is in custody on 130 counts of possession of obscene matter involving minors, according to the Florence Police Department.
Police said detectives received a cyber tip Oct. 9 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the uploading of child pornography at a residence on Shade Avenue.
Detectives served a search warrant at the home on Oct. 12 and seized several cell phones and pieces of computer equipment, police said.
Investigators said child pornography was found on the seized evidence, leading to an arrest warrant for Terry Cromwell, 46, of Florence.
Cromwell was taken into custody Oct. 22 and charged with 130 counts of Possession of Obscene Matter Containing Visual Depiction of Persons Under 17 Years of Age Involved in Obscene Acts.
He is confined at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond, police said.
