From flower truck to brick and mortar: Dimples Flowers blooms in Woodlawn

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Pull up to the flower bar. There’s a new business in the Woodlawn neighborhood that puts color on a special occasion. If you’ve spent any time around town over the last five years, you’ve likely spotted Poppy, the charming blue-and-white flower truck that has spread floral joy across the city. Now, owner Kendyl Jones is taking her business to the next level with a brand-new storefront right on First Avenue.

Dimples Flowers opened its first brick-and-mortar Saturday, August 29th and Jones is so grateful her truck customers have moved to her stationary business. She still provides the same beautiful flower bouquets, arranged for special occasions, like birthdays, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, and congratulations.

“We feel so grateful just to have the following that we’ve had for the last five years,” says Jones, who opened the doors to Dimples Flowers’ first brick-and-mortar location this past week. “Everyone’s already come to support, and we just can’t wait to meet our new customers and the new people of Woodlawn.”

This cozy new shop offers a delightful, hands-on experience. Visitors can stop by the “Build-a-Bouquet Bar” to hand-select their favorite arrangement, which is then wrapped in classic brown paper and tied with twine. But if you want to elevate your creation, you can cruise around the store and pick out a beautiful wall of vases, along with some other accessory gifts like candles, art, and books.

“We will always have daisies here in the store because they are a best seller,” Jones shares. “Every time, people love daisies. They last forever, they come in a thousand different colors, and they will just never disappoint.”

Dimples Flowers also has specialized wedding and event packages. “The more flowers, the better, honestly,” Jones says of the popular flower arch trend. “We love doing huge installations like that. It really draws your eye not only just to the couple, but just celebrates the really big day that it is and deserves to be celebrated with really beautiful blooms.”
