Attalla Police: Multiple roads, railroad crossings without power, closed due to flooding

ATTALLA, Ala. (WBRC) - Multiple roads are closed and are without power in Attalla as storms move through the area Sunday night.

Attalla Police say the traffic lights at the intersection of 5th Ave. NE/Cleveland Ave./1st St. N are without power.

Police also say the railroad overpass on 5th Ave. NE between 1st St. N and 3rd St. N is closed due to flooding.

“Please use caution, slow down, and avoid the area if possible,” police say.

In addition to some roadways being closed, officials say some railroad crossings in the area are also without power.

“Please DO NOT stop on the railroad crossings while waiting in traffic,” officials say.

Attalla Police say they are currently on the scene directing traffic in the city and that ALDOT and Alabama Power are on the way to assist.
