Woman found dead in woods nearly 2 months after she disappeared for a second time, officials say
BRUNSWICK, Maine (Gray News) - A woman in Maine was found dead nearly two months after she disappeared for a second time.
On Saturday, Brunswick police announced that 56-year-old Rebecca Dorr was found dead “in a wooded area near some walking trails.”
Dorr vanished from her home around 3 p.m. on Jan. 25 and in the morning of Jan. 26, according to a press release.
At the time, authorities said that Dorr was “believed to have left her residence on foot” and may have been “impacted by mental health issues.”
That was the second time Dorr had disappeared in a matter of months. She disappeared for the first time on Aug. 18, 2025. She went missing for three days.
At this time, officials say her death is not considered suspicious.
