Elkmont woman killed when truck crashes into Etowah County pond

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - An Elkmont woman died Sunday, Feb. 15 after her truck left the road, hit a fence and went into a pond in Gadsden.

State Troopers have identified the woman as Kathy N. Hamilton. She was 65. The crash happened around 5:53 a.m. on Riverview Drive near Tillison Road.

Two passengers in the truck were hurt and taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Etowah County Dive Team recovered Hamilton’s body from the truck. Gadsden Police are investigating the crash.
