Tuscaloosa florist selected to help decorate The White House for Christmas

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A west Alabama florist is headed to The White House!

Tammy West is the owner of Glow Floral Event Design in Tuscaloosa. West says it all started in September when she saw a White House Instagram looking for volunteers to help decorate The White House for Christmas. West applied and was picked! She says her assistant got the call a few days ago.

“No, it was not Mr. Trump, no. It was a White House coordinator for that. It was a really neat experience to get the call and pinch yourself like ‘is this really real?’. I’m sure we’ll get in there and do our thing. I know there are hundreds of trees. We’ll be working with other talented designers too so I’m hoping to learn as well while I am there, so it’s just gonna be one of those things we’ll get in there and do our thing,” said West.

West says she and her assistant will spend the entire week of Nov. 23 at The White House. She says once all the decorations are completed, the volunteers will be invited to The White House Christmas party the following Monday.
