Talladega County missing man’s family continues to search 3 weeks later
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The family of 21-year-old Jerry Wilkins reports that he left their home in Childersburg more than two weeks ago and has not been seen or heard from since.
His mother, Karissa Vick, expressed her concerns, saying she wants to know that her son is OK.
The past three weeks have been incredibly difficult for her, as they have no idea where he might be. She is now asking anyone who may have information to come forward.
The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating Wilkins' disappearance. According to Vick, Jerry left their home in Childersburg around 10 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2025, saying he would get a haircut in the Lincoln area. He left his phone behind, and no one has heard from him since.
When he went missing, Wilkins was wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt and he was driving a white 2013 Yukon with Alabama license plate “PLYSAX.”
Vick mentioned that the SUV was spotted in Lincoln about an hour after Jerry left home.
“It’s been an emotional rollercoaster. We just want him to reassure us that he is OK. No questions asked - if he chose to leave, we just want to know that he is alive and safe. If we can get any tips or leads, we can work with investigators to search specific locations and try to find him,” said Vick.
Vick urges anyone with information to call the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office.
