Alabama Power talks electric cars in T-Town

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Alabama Power teamed up with Young Tuscaloosa for their first electric car lunch and to learn more about electric cars. It was billed as the EV tailgate. A variety of electric vehicles were on display at the Alabama Power office on Queen City Avenue. Company leaders say this was an opportunity to showcase the growing trend towards electric cars and the growing number of electric charging stations throughout the state.

“So electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular as the charging infrastructure continues to grow, people are kind of catching on, and also there are cooler vehicles. Now you see cyber trucks, Tesla has a whole fleet of things. They’re fun to drive. They’re definitely becoming more and more popular, and we see that growth as we see more chargers around the area,” said Alabama Power West Alabama Spokeswoman Danielle Kimbrough.

Young Tuscaloosa consists of the young professional crowd ranging from their early 20s to 40s.
