Overturned 18-wheeler closes Dead Man’s Curve in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to an overturned 18-wheeler at the I-20 West and I-59 South interchange, also known as Dead Man’s Curve, Friday afternoon.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. Friday.

No injuries were reported in the incident and crews confirm the vehicle wasn’t carrying hazardous materials. There was also no fire.

Crews were working to contain a diesel fuel spill at the location.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area Friday afternoon and find alternate routes while they work to clear the scene.
