Woman’s body found on road by City of Birmingham employees

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found on a road at the end of a dead-end street.

City of Birmingham employees found the body in the 1200 block of 18th Street North at 8:15 a.m. Thursday.

A cause of death is not known. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The 43-year-old woman has been identified by fingerprint comparison but her family has not yet been found and told about her death.
