TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A Tuscaloosa family is desperate for answers after their loved one disappeared almost a month ago in Elkton, Maryland.

There have been few leads so far in the disappearance of 43-year-old Jonathan Howard. His family said he disappeared around October 24.

Howard owns a dog grooming business in Tuscaloosa but was living temporarily in Maryland. Howard was supposed to return to Alabama.

His 2012 silver Hyundai Veloster with Alabama plates was found in Newark, Delaware in mid-November. Howard had been living in and out of his car but police said when they found it, there was nothing inside.

Howard's family is praying for good news.

"I want my son to come home alive. If somebody has hurt him or done worse...it was somebody he trusted. He was very aware of his surroundings," Linda Beasley, Howard's mother, said.

Police said Howard frequents a Motel 6 in the Elkton, Maryland area. Howard's family said they would like for Tuscaloosa authorities to look at the case but so far they said they have not been contacted.

If you have any information about Howard's location or speak to him, please call Elkton Police's tip line at 410-398-4200.
