Body of missing boater found in Lake Hillabee

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - The search for a missing boater in Calhoun County has come to a sad ending.

A group from Christian Aid Ministries found Dedric L. Brown’s body in the Hillabee Reservoir Wednesday afternoon.

Brown was 54 and lived in Eastaboga. He told his family he was going fishing and was last seen around 7:30 a.m. on Monday on an aluminum jon boat.

Deputies found Brown’s boat empty at the lake with evidence showing that he may have fallen into the water. Multiple agencies helped in the search for Brown.
