BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - THE NEXT 24 HOURS: It’s been so nice to see more popup showers and storms on radar, although some storms have been strong with gusty winds. Isolated showers and storms will continue through this evening, so stay weather alert for those high school games tonight.

We are kicking off the final official weekend of summer 2025 and the weather will be in full summer mode. The lows will be in the 60s, but plan for sizzling heat during the afternoon on Saturday, with highs in the low to mid 90s. We will also have a chance for a few isolated pop-up showers and storms.

THE NEXT BIG THING: The good news is the chance for isolated showers and storms will remain in the forecast through early next week, with higher rain chances by midweek. We will have highs staying in the 90s, with lows closer to 70º through Tuesday. Then, an upper level storm system will send a front our way and this will bring an increasing chance for showers and storms on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by another surge of drier air for the final weekend of the month. Highs will settle into the 80s later next week, with lows back in the 60s.
