IRONDALE, Ala. (WBRC) - Alabama Professional Services partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a nonprofit dedicated to delivering hand-made, fully furnished beds to children in need, for a National Build Day on Aug. 2.

The beds will be going to children who would otherwise be forced to sleep on the floor or couch every night.

“Participating in a build day with Sleep In Heavenly Peace is an incredibly meaningful experience for me,” said Craig Williams, owner of APS. “I believe in the importance of giving back to our community. Helping to build beds for children in need not only aligns with our company’s values but also brings a sense of fulfillment and purpose to our team. This initiative reminds us all of the power of coming together to make a positive difference.”

Being ‘bedlessness’ is a national crisis that causes serious issues in children and teenagers, such as hyperactivity, anxiety and depression, in addition to an overall worsening of health, according to Supportworks’ website.

Supportworks, a supplier of repair products to APS, provided the tools and materials to help build the beds.
