HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) - Hoover City Schools board members made a surprise announcement Wednesday in naming Dr. Dee Fowler as the new superintendent.
Board members said after listening to what parents wanted in a leader they kept coming back to retired education leader and educator, Dr. Fowler.
According to the Akribos Group where Fowler was listed as an associate, his career in public education has spanned over 40 years, from teacher to Deputy State Superintendent. Fowler spent 15 years as a principal and ten years as superintendent of Madison City Schools.
Dr. Tera Simmons has served as Interim Superintendent for the district after former Superintendent Dr. Kathy Murphy left to lead Gadsden State.
