BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Metallica concert in Birmingham was the first real test of the I-59/20 bridge closure.
There was a lot of congestion around the BJCC Tuesday night as Metallica fans converged from in and around Birmingham. The complex is hoping to help drivers by offering animated maps on their website, BJCC.org.
They highlight specific routes that will be open all January. We talked with one Metallica fan who designs digital maps for a living.
"I think they did a good job with them. They are user-friendly and they got us where we were going easily so we didn't have any issues. If I were making this map, it's exactly how I would've made it so they did a good job,” says Jason Britton.
