24-year-old woman killed following verbal altercation in Inglenook

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Police have identified the victim in Friday afternoon shooting in Birmingham
Authorities confirm that 24-year-old Iesha Mayhand was shot and killed during an altercation in the 4900 block of Brittian Street.
Mayhand was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Birmingham Police Department.
Another woman is in custody following the shooting.
Officers responded to the scene around 12:45 p.m. to find Mayhand lying on the ground next to a vehicle.
The shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation when the victim was brought to the location to collect money from her child's father.
Mayhand was pronounced dead at the scene.
