BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - UAB Theatre is bringing “Cabaret” to the stage Nov. 11–15 at the Alys Stephens Center’s Sirote Theatre.

Set in 1930s Berlin, the musical follows American writer Cliff Bradshaw and cabaret performer Sally Bowles as they navigate love and nightlife amid the rise of the Nazi Party.

UAB senior and assistant choreographer Aurkheem Jolley said he’s not nervous at all to choreograph the show.

“I’ve had the guidance of Thad Wilson, our choreographer, and he’s helped me get my way into it,” Jolley said. “I’ve had a blast working with all the students and working with my peers and getting to see their artistry grow on top of me getting to learn this new side of my creative process.”

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 11–14, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 15.

Tickets are available through the Alys Stephens Center website.
