BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Authorities in Blount County say a man convicted of sex crimes involving a young girl was denied a new trial after requesting one.

On Nov. 6, 2024, Jeffery Allen Gable was found guilty of sexual torture and sexual abuse of a 3-year-old girl.

Gable was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Dec. 4, 2024.

Officials say following sentencing, Gable filed a motion for a new trial. We’re told a hearing was held on Jan. 28, 2025, and on Feb. 2, a trial court denied that request.

Gable is in the custody of the Alabama Department of Corrections to serve his sentence.
