First Alert: Light showers overnight with 40s Monday morning
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Happy Sunday! Light showers will continue overnight. I’m holding on to a 20% chance. Rain will likely move out after 7 a.m. on Monday morning. Temperatures will drop into the 40s overnight. Winds are coming from the north at 5 to 10 mph.
Chilly Monday morning: Monday morning starts chilly with 40s area wide. We will start the week dry and see gradual clearing of the skies by late Monday morning. I think we’ll likely end up partly cloudy for most of the day and then see increasing clouds once again Monday night. Expect daytime highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Overnight, temperatures will drop into the 40s again for the start of Tuesday.
Showers begin Tuesday: A more active and unsettled weather pattern takes over next week as a series of disturbances passes through the Deep South. The start of the week looks mainly dry for now with just a chance of isolated showers on Tuesday. Morning lows will still run cooler than average in the 40s for Tuesday with highs in the lower 70s. More cloud coverage is expected Tuesday, with a mostly cloudy sky possible.
Next Big Thing: We have a First Alert for wet weather becoming more widespread by mid-week with Wednesday and Thursday looking like the day with the highest rain coverage (around 60 to 70%). Rain and the possibility of a few storms will stick around for Thursday and Friday, but we are not seeing any severe weather concerns at this time. A good 1-2″ of rain will be possible across Central Alabama with higher rainfall totals across the southern half of the state through the end of next week. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to low 70s Tuesday through Friday afternoon with lows more seasonable in the 50s by Wednesday morning.
