Hearing delayed for man accused of killing girlfriend in Cheaha Wilderness

CLAY COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - An arraignment and youthful offender hearing has been delayed until April 20 for a Shelby County man accused of murder.
Loren Bunner, 21, is accused of killing his girlfriend, Jolee Callan, in the Cheaha Wilderness last year.
Callan's body was found on the Pinhoti Trail just outside Cheaha State Park in September 2015.
Police said Bunner apparently called 911 and said he wanted to discuss a situation involving his girlfriend. His Instagram account showed photos of Callan that appear to be in the Cheaha Mountain area on the day she was killed.
Bunner was 20 at the time, so he is eligible for youthful offender status, which would leave him with a lighter sentence and records of his sentencing sealed.
Court records indicate defense attorneys are looking into whether Loren Bunner may have had Asperger's syndrome.
