Two charged with capital murder in death of Pickens Co. man

PICKENS COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Two people have been charged in Pickens County's only confirmed homicide of 2018.

Tommie Jones and Jessica Long are both charged with capital murder in the death of Daniel Perez.

He was killed in his home on Memorial Drive in Aliceville on June 1st.

Pickens County Sheriff David Abston says one of the suspects was invited into the home and the other forced their way inside.

Jones and Long were being held in the Pickens County jail on unrelated charges until Thursday.

The suspects were also charged with robbery, burglary, attempted murder and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jones and Long are in jail without bond.
