BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Democrat Doug Jones says the allegations against his Republican rival in the U.S. Senate race has not changed his campaign.

"Nothing in the last four or five days has changed that this is about the people of Alabama," Jones told reporters after talking with students on the UAB campus Tuesday. "We're going to stay in our lane and talk about issues."

Jones said his campaign won't focus on the allegations of sexual misconduct that has shaken the Moore campaign since Thursday.

A Jones campaign titled Common Ground, released this week, features Republicans who say they will vote for Jones over Moore.

"This time it's worse," one man says in the commercial while a woman references reading the story. Jones said other than those references, the message is the same as when he began this campaign.

"We have said all along, Roy Moore is not qualified to be in the U.S. Senate. He's been kicked out of office twice," Jones said.
