PICKENS COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - Charli Parker will go to prison in a few months for crimes that happened nearly two years ago.
She will spend three years in jail after pleading guilty to two charges of a school employee having sex with a student.
"There needs to be a definitive line drawn in the sand that makes a statement to the public that this behavior will not be tolerated," Chief Assistant Pickens County District Attorney Andy Hamlin told WBRC.
Investigators accused her of having sex nearly a dozen times with two male students who attended Pickens Academy, a private Christian school in Carrolton.
They say the sex happened from 2014 to 2016 at her home, a cemetery and another location.
Soon after Parker's arrest, her husband Jamie, also a teacher and coach at Pickens Academy, was charged with having sex with a female student.
The parents of the victims in Charli Parker's case were satisfied with the plea agreement.
"Nobody wants to have to see their kids going through something like that. I've tried 3 or 4 of those cases in the last year or so and it's hard on the kids and it's hard on the parents," Hamlin explained.
Charlie Parker will report to prison on September 11th.
Jamie Parker goes to trial in November.
