TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Shelton State Community College will host an upcoming career fair Wednesday for people interested in breaking into the automotive manufacturing industry.

This career fair is also specifically for people who live in Hale County.

It's part of an effort to make more people throughout West Alabama Career Ready.

A specially-designed van will be driven to Greensboro Wednesday for the career fair.

It's a Mobile Workforce Unit equipped with computers and internet access so people can register and sign up for the program.

The five week program teaches students about precision measurements and problem solving for people interested in manufacturing jobs in the automotive industry.

"And the employer will see this on their resume'. It also shows the employer, hey they were able to complete a 5 week program, chances are they are probably going to be OK to come work for our company," said Ryan Sabbagh, coordinator for Training in Business and Industry for Workforce Development.

The Automotive Career fair is Wednesday from 3 to 6pm in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Greensboro.
