CHILDERSBURG, AL (WBRC) - Two teens were killed in a wreck involving at least three vehicles on Highway 280 in Childersburg on Wednesday evening.

The Talladega County coroner identified the deceased victims as Sarah Davison, 16, and Daquarius Sheppard, 16, both of Childersburg.

Both teens were students at Childersburg High School, Talladega County Schools confirms. The school issued the following statement on Thursday afternoon:

"Our hearts and thoughts go out to families and friends during this difficult time. Counselors will be at the school today to offer help and comfort to any students and staff in need."

Two other people were hurt in the wreck and are in critical condition.

Police said witnesses told them a Hyundai ran a stop sign and collided with the Ford F-250 on Highway 280 near Ferry Road.

Police said they do not believe this was related to a nearby shooting that left a woman dead, and an officer and suspect injured.
