BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police are searching for a shooting suspect.

Several officers responded to Carol Street in the Brownville community on Thursday morning.

There are about a dozen police cars on the scene, including several officers in tactical gear. A few of them have been searching in the area just beyond a house with a red roof.

Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton said this search is connected to a shooting that happened around 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1.

There was an unoccupied car parked along Jefferson Avenue that was shot into. No one was injured in that shooting.

But a short while later, a car matching the vehicle description for the suspect in that shooting was found in the Brownville area, so police arrived, hoping to find the shooting suspect.

Officials say the suspect does not have any particular connection to this area.  As for the shooting, another officer said it's part of an ongoing feud.

Officers are using at least one K9 in the search.

At one point, a young woman at the scene was taken away by police in handcuffs. It's unclear if she has any connection to the situation.
