BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Birmingham police are looking for three suspects who held up two men in a known drug house and shot them on Tuesday night, killing one of the victims.

Police responded to a double shooting around 10 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 2100 block of 31st Avenue North.

Officers found two men inside the house with gunshot wounds. They were taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.

One of the victims, 31-year-old Roger Cheatham of Birmingham, died from his injury on Wednesday.

Police said they learned that Cheatham and the other man were inside a drug house when three black males forced their way inside.

The trio held everyone at gunpoint and searched the home for unknown items, Lt. Sean Edwards said. Once they found what they were looking for, they shot Cheatham and the other man.

All three suspects got away in a Nissan Altima, Edwards said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the BPD Homicide Unit at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
