Jasper woman dies in Demopolis boating accident

DEMOPOLIS, AL (WBRC) - Alabama state troopers have released the identity of a woman killed in a boating accident in Demopolis.

Kimberly Delois Sergeant, 40, of Jasper died when she jumped from a stalled fishing boat in order to avoid drifting off the Demopolis Lock and Dam on the Tennessee-Tombigbee River.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Alabama state troopers with the Marine Patrol Division continue to investigate.
