SYLACAUGA, AL (WBRC) - A body was found near Avondale Mills on Monday night.
The body was discovered by railroad workers in an equipment yard near a railroad depot, according to Sylacauga Police Lt. Michael Moore.
Police said two people found an unidentified male inside a cab of a pickup truck, according to a post on the Sylacauga Police Department's Facebook page.
Police said the body was found in an area locally known as the "old box mill" on the old Avondale Mills property near Seminole Avenue.
The body was sent to state labs for identification and the cause of death is still undetermined.. The police cannot confirm whether or not foul play is suspected.
"The Sylacauga Police Department Investigation Unit is awaiting identification and further analysis from the State of Alabama Forensics Lab," the police department posted.
