Wife arrested in Walker County man's death

WALKER COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - The Walker County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a woman for her husband's death.

Irvin DeWayne Mayes, 47, died of a gunshot wound at his home on Thomas Drive in Oakland around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, according to Sheriff Jim Underwood.

Mayes' wife, Cynthia, has been arrested and charged with murder. She is being held on a $100,000 bond.
