Former UA, NFL player Alonzo Ephraim arrested on drug, weapons charges

PLEASANT GROVE, AL (WBRC) - Former Alabama and NFL player Alonzo Ephraim is in custody in Pleasant Grove on drugs and weapons charges.
Ephraim was arrested Monday night on possession of a controlled substance and carrying a pistol without a permit charges, according to jail authorities.
Ephraim, 34, played for the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns after entering the NFL draft in 2003.
He was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail on Wednesday morning.
